Power Flue Gas Fires
A power flue gas fire will work in a very similar way to that of a balanced flue gas fire in that an existing chimney structure is not necessary and the combustion gases are expelled out of the room via a piping system through the wall. Just like a balanced flue gas fire, a power flue gas fire will need to be situated on an external wall so that the integral fan can propel the gases safely out of the room. The main difference is that a power flue gas fire can be open-fronted (no glass), and the air for combustion is taken from the room in which the appliance is situated. The downside to this type of gas fire is that some efficiency is lost through the flue system, but on the upside, the open front creates a more realistic look due to the exposed flames.
